The anodized extruded aluminum rail is sturdy and it has mounting holes top and bottom. The hook/hanger devices are sturdy and are coated with what seems to be a tough, durable rubbery plastic. They snap onto the rail securely, tightly, and neatly in a very pleasing way - but you do have to pay attention to attach the rail right-side-up. There are plenty of fasteners. In these respects this system is perfect.BUT... The rails ship in 16 inch sections. It may be that a person who is attaching them directly to 2x4 studs that are not covered by drywall might, with much skill and some luck, be able to attach both ends to studs, three sections running; but I am skeptical. As a practical matter - when one is using a stud finder to locate studs behind drywall - one ends up choosing two holes out of ten on a rail and attaching to one stud using two screws, then using some of the remaining holes to pull the rail a little closer to the wall using the plastic anchors. If the studs in your garage happen not to be exactly on sixteen inch centers, then you may never get two of the rails to abut: there will be gaps - unless you choose to attach only to the drywall using the anchors provided, in which case you may not be able to store anything heavier than a 50 ft extension cord on that rail before the anchors pull out from the drywall. I had three studs out of four on sixteen inch centers and I got two rails to fit correctly. The third space was like, fifteen inches, so I had a three inch gap and and could not use the center pair of holes for the third rail. So the installation looks less finished than I would have liked. But it is sturdy.Anyone who is fine with these constraints is likely to be delighted with this system. Certainly anyone who lives in a place where walls are concrete - as they are in most places in China where the system is designed and manufactured - could be.
